Well, my demo license of IntelliJ IDEA is over as of two days ago, and I need another platform to develop at least until I can purchase a license (which can take a few good months). So, hearing a lot about the new Beta 2 of NetBeans, I’ve decided to try it out.

I will probably post something about it soon. I am coming with low expectations, to be frank, and I have unjustifiable reasons. I am prejudice against NetBeans because I used it in a very early version a long time ago and had a really bad experience; However, first impressions are always the ones to last and I am sorry to be affected by them as well.

You might be interested in the NetBeans mailing lists/newsgroups – you can sign up for nbusers on the NetBeans web site (community section); or with Thunderbird or another newsreader, get to them from news://news.gmane.org – just search for “netbeans”

    Thanks, both Alex and Tim!

Alex – Since I enjoy working with IDEA a lot, I humbly take your offer.
Tim – I still want to check out NetBeans, and so I shall, perhaps not for the X2J project I’m writing currently though.
