NetBeans 5.0 RC 2

2006-01-20 00:13:24 · IDEs Asides

Since I didn't see Anywhere around the NetBeans site about RC 2 except their main page, I don't see what the fuss is all about. What's new in RC 2 anyway? Seems like Sun didn't bother to update their page well enough to actually say. I hope it will be up there soon, and I will update as well. In the meantime, go and download, even though the link still seems to point to RC 1: http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/download.php?type=5.0rc1 (from here.) I hope this is the final release and work will start for NetBeans 6.0. Good luck, NetBeans dev team!

It's a release candidate. There won't be new features, just bug fixes.

I know. :) Allow me to make my point clearer: If it's a release candidate 2, there must have been some major bugs, fixed now, that cause the first one to didn't pass as a full release. No where did I find where these bugs are listed though. Not on the site anyway..
